Accountant 

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join Perth’s award winning and largest independent full-service creative advertising agency.  Our independence sets us apart at Rare and allows us to put people at the heart of everything we do.

As the Accountant, you will work directly with our Director of Finance & Operations to oversee the agency’s financials, utilising your expertise in financial analysis and reporting to drive accurate and insightful decision-making.

 

Your Responsibilities can include
  • Manage end-of-month processes according to a detailed Monday.com checklist, including preparing monthly financial reports, reconciliation of the accounting ledger, and undertaking required analysis.
  • Weekly banking reconciliation and priority supplier payment run, as well as a monthly supplier payment.
  • Assist with weekly cashflow forecast.
  • Prepare the Quarterly BAS returns and monthly IAS.
  • Assist with end of financial year reporting and annual FBT return, with external accountants.
  • Manage your direct reports to deliver Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable according to Monday.com checklists.
  • Manage your direct reports to deliver Administration, Events and IT requirements for the office according to Monday.com checklists.
  • Oversee the professional development of 3 direct reports.
  • Assist colleagues with ad hoc financial and administration queries.
  • Assist with continuous improvement in the Finance and Administration areas
About YOU

As the Accountant, you’ll be a versatile multitasker and adept manager handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, and administration. Serving as the financial steward for our agency, you’ll deliver precise reports, resolve challenges efficiently, and inspire the team with your motivational prowess, showcasing a proactive approach and readiness to ‘Excel’ from the get-go.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in either Accounting or a related field with working towards professional membership as a CPA or CA.
  • High level of proficiency and experience in Excel (including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups).
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar accounting role, with proven experience in team support and reporting analysis.
